Aderinsola Akintilo
Senior Product Designer
Aderinsola is a designer with an international background in user experience design, consulting, and digital product development.
Before joining BDC, Aderinsola excelled in the life-sciences field by spearheading the design of Sorcero’s AI Platform. This platform empowers the Life Sciences industry by providing crucial medical data and insights, facilitating smarter decisions for doctors and patients. Over the last decade, Aderinsola collaborated with renowned brands, crafting technology-driven experiences, services, and products that tackle intricate challenges and generate value for customers and stakeholders. His expertise extends across various sectors including: transportation, logistics, healthcare, telecommunications, and energy. Aderinsola makes time to share his knowledge, coaching the next generation of designers at Thinkful.
Allison Considine
NY Senior Campaigns & Communications Manager
Prior to joining BDC, Allison worked as the NY Senior Campaign Representative for the Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal Campaign, leading statewide strategies to block new gas-fired power plants and support clean energy, and with Sierra Club’s Building Electrification and Clean Transportation for All campaigns. She organized nurses across the country before joining the climate movement, and now lives in NYC.
Amy Rider
Director of Policy Acceleration
Prior to BDC, Ms. Rider was a Principal at Archamy Consulting, a sustainability consulting firm. She has held positions with local government agencies, an electric utility, and consulting firms. Her work has focused on advancing building science and optimizing climate action through policy, knowledge sharing, behavior change, and technology implementation.
André Meurer
Director of Digital Products
André is a technologist with international background in software engineering and product development.
Prior to joining BDC, André was Chief Product Officer for Oliver Wyman Retail Solutions and Director with Oliver Wyman Digital, creating AI-driven tools to empower large corporations to make more customer-centric decisions. Before then, he donned various hats, including engineering manager, solution architect, product manager, and software engineer. He delivered solutions for clients across retail, telecommunications, investment banking, and the public sector.
After two decades in technology and management consulting, André made a decision to focus his career on climate change, working toward an electrified future powered by clean energy.
Andrew Owodunni
Senior Website Associate
Andrew is the Senior Website Associate responsible for managing the back end of the company’s websites and web tools. His duties include executing content updates, improving user experience, analyzing data, and tracking the performance of all properties. Prior to joining BDC, Andrew gained extensive experience in website management, cybersecurity, and marketing. He excels in ensuring optimal website functionality and performance while implementing measures to safeguard data and protect against online threats.
Ania Camargo
Thermal Networks Senior Manager
Prior to BDC, Ania was a founding director of Case Associates, a consulting company that provides management assistance to nonprofit organizations. She was also a community organizer working with multiple organizations and alliances to drive action on climate change. For example, she was on the Mothers Out Front (MOF) Massachusetts leadership team, led the Downtown MOF Boston team, and is the board president of HEET. She also co-founded and coordinated the Gas Leaks Allies, a collaboration of over 25 nonprofit organizations, working to transition the Massachusetts gas system to renewable thermal energy.
Anita Singha
California Senior Marketing Manager
Anita is a lifelong Californian with Punjabi roots who values collaboration, community, and creativity. As Senior Marketing Manager at BDC, she leads California statewide marketing for the Switch is On and TECH Clean California. Her career in marketing and communications spans 20 years, most recently leading fundraising communications at the Sierra Club. Before that, she worked in marketing roles at the California Academy of Sciences, one of the leading biological science museums in the country, and PG&E, the largest utility in the US. She enjoys meandering hikes and birdwatching, is a novice gardener, and is an avid reader.
Ashley Besic
Thermal Energy Networks Senior Associate
Ashley comes to the BDC from leading the Net Zero Imperative at ULI, a nonprofit education and research institute that focuses on issues of land use, real estate, and urban development. She got her start as a Sustainability Project Manager at LivCor, a Blackstone Portfolio Company where she was instrumental in laying the foundation for the multifamily firm’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) department and driving their sustainability programming forward. A Chicago native, she now lives in Texas with her small but growing family.
Beckie Menten
Senior Regulatory and Policy Specialist
Prior to joining the BDC, Beckie worked energy programs for CCAs for nearly ten years, working both at MCE and most recently at East Bay Community Energy. Beckie has also worked at both the California Energy Commission and the California Public Utilities Commission, in addition to overseeing Distributed Energy Resources Programs at the Center for Sustainable Energy.
Brian Barnacle
Managing Director of Strategy & Development
Brian is the Coalition’s Senior Manager of Strategy and Development. He focuses on the intersection of technology, policy, and supply chain strategy, working closely with internal teams and industry experts to improve existing initiatives, expand into new markets, and forge new partnerships. Prior to working with the Coalition, Brian managed business development and sales operations at Energy Solutions, an employee-owned clean energy consulting company.
Brian Jenkins
Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager
Brian Jenkins steps into the role of Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager at the Building Decarbonization Coalition with a robust background in environmental advocacy, policy formulation, and strategic coalition leadership. His tenure at the Energy Foundation showcased his adeptness in steering comprehensive legislative campaigns, leading the largest renewable energy and climate coalition in the state, and fostering significant policy changes toward clean energy and environmental sustainability. Brian‘s exceptional skills in crafting and executing strategic campaigns, coupled with his deep understanding of energy policy and stakeholder engagement, have been instrumental in advancing renewable energy, electric vehicles, and energy efficiency initiatives. His commitment to environmental stewardship and his strategic approach to building bipartisan alliances underscore his capability to drive the BDC’s mission forward in the Mid-Atlantic region, promising impactful strides in the decarbonization landscape.
Celine Ryan
Customer & Contractor Experience Manager
Celine supports the BDC by bridging the gap between customers, contractors, and the Switch Is On campaign. Prior to joining the BDC, she worked for SaaS startups in commercial real estate and renewable energy where she was responsible for building customer support teams, expanding high-volume pilot programs, and retaining key customer portfolios. Taking a career leap, she’s diving into the nonprofit world with the BDC and is excited about combining her professional talents with personal passions. In her free time, you can find Celine experimenting in the kitchen, hiking a local trail in RVA, or tending to her ever-growing houseplant collection.

Prior to joining BDC, Claudette spent several years working as an executive assistant in private equity, hedge funds, and venture capital. Most recently, she worked at Venture Capital Fund Seven Seven Six supporting the Leadership team. She resides in Pasadena, CA, and enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Associate Manager of Community Outreach
Prior to joining BDC, Frank was the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at United Way of San Diego County where he engaged corporate partners and donors in local volunteerism, organized press events for key initiatives, and managed community volunteer events. Prior to United Way, Frank worked for several nonprofit organizations and local government agencies where he focused his efforts on community outreach and engagement, event planning, and fundraising efforts. Frank received his BA in Liberal Studies and minor in Communications at California State University, Bakersfield. Outside of the office Frank enjoys hiking, exploring new restaurants, and loves spending his time on the beach where he resides in San Diego, CA.

Prior to BDC, Mrs. Apaliski ran her own consulting business Sustainability Concierge helping people update every aspect of their home life toward sustainability. Previous to that she was the head of marketing at the San Francisco Department of the Environment where she worked with multiple sectors to develop measurable campaigns big and small. Before focusing on the environment, she spent eight years in the advertising industry working to help brands reach and engage their desired audiences.
Holly Harris
Intermountain West Senior Regional Manager
Holly is an attorney who collaborates at the forefront of intersectional climate change advocacy to advance renewable energy policy and just, effective climate change solutions.
Holly served as a staff attorney for Earthjustice in Alaska for roughly a decade, where she worked to achieve a swift and equitable shift from fossil fuels. She began her career as an attorney with K&L Gates LLP in Washington, focusing on decarbonization, renewable energy, mass transportation, and public project development.
Holly lives in her home state of Colorado at the base of Tavá Kaa-vi — the Sun Mountain. She shares her life with the best old dog to ever come from the Haines Beerfest and a hellhound of a rescue pup from Texas … (and roughly 100,000 honey bees).
Jacqueline Ramirez
California Policy Senior Associate
Prior to joining the BDC, Jacqueline served as Housing California’s Policy Associate, where she engaged in statewide legislation and coalition work around housing instability, homelessness, and intersecting policy areas. Jacqueline is passionate about building collaboration and comprehensive solutions for vulnerable communities. This interest has led her to work on various issues, including health equity, economic development, and resource instability. A Los Angeles native, Jacqueline holds an undergraduate degree in Anthropology with a minor in Global Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, and graduate degrees in Public Administration and Social Work from the University of Southern California.
Jason Brown
Communications Manager, New York
Jason is an experienced public relations and marketing professional dedicated to communicating how New York State can rapidly, affordably, and equitably decarbonize its buildings.
Before joining the BDC Jason directed communications strategies for climate tech, information tech, and other organizations at Antenna Group, Hotwire Global, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) Inc., and 3Degrees. He currently lives on the northern tip of Manhattan, where he enjoys walking through Fort Tryon Park and Inwood Hill Park.
Jeff Chenoweth

Jeff Chenoweth is a creative leader with over a decade of experience developing and supporting impactful brands. Prior to joining BDC, he was Director of Marketing at a startup focused on providing accessible and affordable EV charging solutions. Before that, Jeff spent nearly five years leading the marketing and creative team at a west coast multi-family real estate firm. He has a passion for helping mission-driven brands connect with their audiences, and a keen interest in applying his skills and experience to fight climate change. Jeff holds a B.A. in Professional Writing from Michigan State University and currently lives in Portland, Oregon. He enjoys running, biking, and very loud music.
Jenae Elliott
Marketing Manager (Pilots)
Jenae Elliott is the Senior Marketing Manager of Pilot Programs for The Switch Is On. She focuses on new market expansion, account management, marketing strategy, and product development to launch and grow consumer awareness campaigns designed to educate and inspire people to electrify their homes. Before joining BDC, Jenae spent more than a decade producing award-winning marketing and communication campaigns for the utility industry, specializing in market transformation, technology implementation, behavior change, and program participation. Her background also includes public service, consulting, and project management for government offices, nonprofits, and advertising agencies. Jenae holds marketing certifications from The American Marketing Association and The Digital Marketing Institute and is a proud Western Washington University alum. As a lifelong Washingtonian, Jenae covets the sun and spends every warm day paddle-boarding lakes, roller skating greenways, hiking urban trails, biking up and down mountains, and motorcycling across the Pacific Northwest.

Jess has developed or implemented communications strategies for NGOs, researchers, travel industry leaders, policymakers, and campaigns for student labor unions. To align her career with meaningfully addressing climate change, she pursued an M.S. from the University of Michigan, where she specialized in environmental justice, sustainability and development, and science & technology policy. She is enthusiastic about thermal energy networks—a neighborhood-scale solution that not only reduces emissions and improves air quality, but fosters good jobs and facilitates an equitable transition to clean energy.

Kitchen Electrification Events Associate
Jessica’s background spans climate change and food security research, landscape design, marketing, and meal prep. She draws from these experiences to cook up events rooted in an ethic of imagination, solidarity, and care. Jessica holds a BA in Earth and Planetary Science from Harvard University. In her free time she enjoys mobile photography and shopping for plants she doesn’t have space for.
John Masuga
Senior Brand Designer
John is an Alaska-based brand designer interested in creating holistic, collaborative, and accessible visual systems and processes. Prior to joining BDC, John helped scale Color Health’s. brand and design practices across a variety of public health products and services. Prior to Color, John honed his skills as a designer at several premier Chicago-based design studios and agencies. Outside of work, you can find John hiking with his dog, sharing a meal with loved ones, or practicing his cello.
Jose Torres
Managing Director of States & Regions
Prior to BDC, Mr. Torres worked as California Environmental Justice Alliance’s Energy Equity Program Manager, where he oversaw their energy legislative, regulatory, and implementation work. He also worked at the California Energy Commission’s Office of Governmental Affairs and at both the California State Assembly and Senate. His career in public service started as a California Senate Fellow in the Office of Senator Alex Padilla.
Julie Lang
Senior Finance Manager
Prior to joining BDC, Julie served as the finance manager at L.A. Works, where she managed and streamlined financial systems. Previously, she served as the finance manager for multiple nonprofits where she developed an extensive background in nonprofit accounting, budget management, and financial process development. With degrees in Sociology and Sustainability she spends her time supporting initiatives that address multilateral challenges with an end goal of intergenerational equality, environmental and economic sustainability, and social equity. She currently lives in Albuquerque NM, where she can be found exploring the great outdoors with her dogs.

Justin’s professional background spans development, policy communications and international relations. He holds a BS in International Relations and an MS in Government from the University of the West Indies in his native Jamaica, in addition to an MA in Urban & Public Affairs from the University of San Francisco. His approach to climate change is rooted in environmental justice and the importance of local community voices to equitably embrace the future.
Kate Ferranti
NY Chief of Staff
Kate has twenty-five years of experience in the labor movement and sustainable small business, with skills in communications, human resources, executive management and administration, strategic plan/systems development and implementation, performance management, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. She previously served as the Chief of Operations at Local 32BJ Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the largest property services union in the U.S., as well as the Business Operations Manager at The Cleaver Company, where she helped secure the company’s B Corp certification. She lives in Brooklyn, NY, loves the ocean and the mountains, and is thrilled to focus on climate change and be part of the clean energy movement.
Kathrina Lopez-White
Senior Marketing Associate, Northern California
As the Senior Marketing Associate for Northern California, Kat supports the Building Decarbonization Coalition (BDC) by connecting customers and contractors to the Switch Is On campaign. With a focus on social impact and sustainability, Kat advances ESG initiatives and brings experience from non-profits like Fair Trade Certified, International Planned Parenthood, and Sempervirens Fund.
Kat specializes in demand generation and marketing automation, creating email, social, and web marketing strategies that align with organizational mission and values. Passionate about social responsibility, arts, culture, and community development, Kat leverages her marketing expertise to foster meaningful change and a sustainable future.
Kevin Carbonnier
Market Intelligence Manager
Kevin is the Building Decarbonization Coalition’s Market Intelligence Manager tracking decarbonization market trends and developing custom analytical tools. Kevin joined the BDC with a decade of experience specializing in building energy analysis, zero energy market tracking, and groundbreaking research on emerging technologies, building-grid interactivity, and lifecycle carbon accounting. Kevin holds a Ph.D. in architectural engineering and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
Kristin George Bagdanov
Senior Manager of Policy Research
Kristin helps build the relational infrastructure for the broader building decarbonization movement. She holds a PhD from University of California, Davis, where she studied the relationship between energy transitions, cultural production, and social movements, and an MFA from Colorado State University. She has previously worked for non-profit housing and healthcare organizations that serve vulnerable communities. She is also a published author and currently lives in Sacramento, CA.

Lawrence Garber
Policy Manager
Prior to joining BDC, Lawrence worked with the Sustainability Program at the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG). He has served as an environmental science educator in Yosemite National Park, a high school teacher in Austin, Texas, and a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone and Namibia. He has a Masters in International Environmental Policy from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and a BS from the University of Michigan. He currently lives in Irvine, CA.

Senior Manager, Accounts & Partnerships
Leada is the Senior Accounts & Partnerships Manager responsible for BDC’s membership program. Prior to joining the BDC, she was a Senior Project Manager at New Buildings Institute, where she led a premier industry conference dedicated to building decarbonization and a professional development program for college students of color. Leada lives in Portland, OR with her husband and dog and enjoys home fermentation projects, yoga, and candle making.
Lindsey Holliday
Sr. Marketing Associate, Southern California Region
Lindsey serves as the Senior Marketing Associate for the Southern California region, focusing on the Switch Is On campaign. She brings a wealth of expertise to her role with over a decade of experience in marketing and communications across industries such as tech, non-profit, and more. Lindsey is deeply committed to social justice movements, including climate justice, sustainability, and gender equality.
Her passion for addressing climate change drives her dedication to the BDC’s initiatives and mission. In her free time, Lindsey is an outdoor enthusiast and avid traveler, often found surfing, biking/hiking, or exploring new cities. She also enjoys relaxing with her dog, Chile, while diving into a good book.
Lisa Dix
New York Director
Prior to joining the BDC, Ms. Dix served as the Senior Campaign Manager of the Sierra Club’s groundbreaking ‘Beyond Coal,’ campaign, where her leadership was instrumental in ending the use of coal fired power plants in New York State. A longtime and vigorous advocate for renewable energy, Ms. Dix helped launch the state’s Offshore Wind Master Plan, committing New York State to generate 9,000 megawatts of electricity from wind, the nation’s largest amount of wind generated energy.
Madison Vander Klay
Government Affairs Manager
Madison is a Government Affairs Manager for BDC, where she brings several years of experience moving the needle on climate and housing production policy in California, including within the state Assembly. She joins BDC from the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, and splits her time between Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Makario Sarsozo
Content Manager
Makario is a senior storyteller and science communicator with many years of experience creating high-end, innovative content for broadcast and digital platforms. He has worked as a showrunner, writer, and producer on projects for National Geographic, Science Channel, Discovery Channel, and YouTube. More recently, he worked as a communications fellow in the US Senate and environmental analyst with the NASA DEVELOP program, using Earth observations to monitor Federally Endangered wild Atlantic salmon habitat in Maine. Makario received his B.A. in Asian Studies and Japanese from Skidmore College and recently received his M.S. in Environmental Sciences and Policy, with a concentration in International Environmental Policy, from Johns Hopkins University. He is passionate about addressing environmental justice issues and highlighting solutions to climate change.
Malak Nassereddine
NY Senior Utility & Regulatory Policy Manager
Malak is an attorney and policy specialist, helping to drive BDC’s strategy in engaging New York State’s utility providers and regulators.
Prior to joining BDC, Malak served as an Assistant Deputy Director, in the New York City Council’s Legislative Division where she worked on a wide range of legislation, including updating New York City’s Environmentally Preferable Purchasing program, expanding the City’s idling law and establishing a citywide composting program. Prior to working with the New York City Council, Malak was a litigator in private practice in Toronto, Canada.
Marycella Dumlao
Senior Events Manager
Marycella Dumlao is a certified meeting professional (CMP) with 10 years of experience planning conferences, tradeshows, and other events. Prior to joining BDC, she worked at the National Hydropower Association (NHA) where she implemented regional meetings, strategic board events, and supported the launch of a brand new tradeshow. She also served as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Lead at NHA, where she crafted and executed a historic DEI program, including the creation of a community to support the career growth and development of young professionals and professionals from historically excluded communities. This group has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy and was mentioned in a United Nations report. Previously, she worked at Maritz Global Events, a large event-management firm, where she worked on conferences as small as 30 people to tradeshows with over 130,000 attendees.
Matt Casale
Associate Director of State Mobilization
Matt is a climate and environmental campaign specialist, with a background in law and policy. Prior to joining BDC, Matt was the director of environment campaigns for the Public Interest Research Group (PIRG), where he led the organization’s climate and transportation programs and worked to advance state and federal climate policy. He also clerked for the Honorable Alfred S. Irving, Jr., in D.C. Superior Court. Matt is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School and lives in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, with his wife and two daughters.

Matt is a Lead Software Engineer who’s created delightful and thoughtful consumer experiences for over 10 years.
Matt previously worked at Amazon, Noom, and TIME CO2, launching engaging products that now serve millions of users.
Matt’s most recent employment prior to joining BDC was at TIME CO2. The team helped corporations accelerate their journey to net-zero and nature positive impact. This experience catalyzed Matt to fully invest his career into fighting the most important crisis of our time.
With a love for human-centered product design, Matt is working to transform the consumer experience for BDC and help homeowners seamlessly navigate the complex world of home decarbonization.
Matt Rusteika
Managing Director of Programs & Partnerships
Matt comes to the BDC from leading the Buildings Initiative at Acadia Center, a Northeast regional clean energy research and advocacy nonprofit based in Maine. Matt has also worked with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where he helped to integrate electrification into the Mass Save programs for the first time, and was a candidate for public office. He lives in New Hampshire with his wife, two sons, and dog.
Nicole Abene
NY Senior Legislative & Regulatory Manager
Before joining BDC, Nicole served as the Deputy Director for Legislative Affairs at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Climate and Sustainability, where she worked to pass priority legislation, including bills to electrify buildings and school buses. Prior to the Mayor’s Office, Nicole worked as a senior legislative attorney at the New York City Council. At the City Council, Nicole worked on legislation including Local Law 97, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in large buildings, and legislation creating commercial waste zones and advancing waste equity.
Nicole Schiller
Manager, People & Culture
Prior to joining the BDC, Nicole spent the last several years in the tech startup world working in Human Resources and as an Executive Assistant. She worked most recently at cybersecurity startup Semperis, where her focus was on new hire onboarding and employee experience. Nicole recently earned a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from HRCI. She resides in Queens, NY and enjoys spending time with her family, making natural homemade soap, and volunteering at a local animal shelter.
Noah Cordoba
Minnesota State Manager
Prior to joining BDC, Noah was a fellow with Easy Bay Community Energy where he supported community energy efficiency. He designed and implemented kitchen electrification programs to expose people to the idea of electric cooking and match them with incentive dollars to help them make the move. Noah has a background in nonprofit communications, fundraising, and environmental psychology. Outside of the electric kitchen, Noah loves traveling to new places, hiking, surfing, and eating a questionable amount of tofu.
Panama Bartholomy
Executive Director
Panama previously was the European Director of the Investor Confidence Project on behalf of the Environmental Defense Fund and has worked for the California Legislature, the California Energy Commission, the California State Architect and California Conservation Corps. He has worked on climate solutions in over 30 countries, and presented at and collaborated on products from the United Nations, the International Energy Agency and the European Commission.
Rachelle Boucher
Senior Lead, Culinary Events and Experiences
Chef Rachelle Boucher is a celebrated cooking appliance expert and event producer. After years of adventure as a top-tier private chef, Rachelle was recruited into the luxury appliance industry, creating her own position as an influential Culinary Events and Marketing Manager for brands such as Miele, SubZero & Wolf and many others. It was there that she found her calling as a leading advocate for induction cooking and what she calls “today’s super-powered, safe and sustainable electric kitchens”. She has been featured in numerous videos, podcasts and publications including on the front page of the New York Times Food Section, converting legendary food journalist Melissa Clark into an induction cooking fan. When she unplugs, you will likely find her whale watching, hiking and reveling in the wonders of nature in her beloved town of Pacifica, CA.
Rania Hamdan
Finance Associate
Rania is a Finance Associate with a strong foundation in political science and economics. She originally hails from the Middle East, but is happy to call North Carolina home now. After a few years in for-profit accounting, Rania made a career shift into the non-profit world, where she can merge her financial expertise with her passion for environmental sustainability. She has dedicated her career to the world of finance, and is committed to maintaining the financial health of BDC to support the well-being of our environment and a more sustainable future. Outside of work, Rania is an avid book lover, film photography enthusiast, and world traveler.
Robin Tung
Associate Director of Communications, California
Prior to joining BDC, Robin served as Communications Manager for the Santa Monica Conservancy where she developed and implemented strategic communications for advocacy, fundraising, membership, and programs. She has also taught college-level writing and contributed to contemporary arts publications. She holds a MFA in writing from the Johns Hopkins University and a BA in literature and writing from UC San Diego. She lives in Los Angeles with her daughter.

Prior to joining BDC, Romy was the Chief Operating Officer for the Waters Center for Systems Thinking, a gold standard provider of systems thinking resources worldwide. Prior to Waters Center, Romy worked for a variety of nonprofit organizations where she developed an extensive background in nonprofit operations, financial management, board governance, HR Management, fundraising and event management.
Rose Stephens-Booker
Director of State Mobilization
Rose Stephens-Booker is an award winning energy professional with a mission to build relationships and business strategies that advocate for climate and clean energy policies. She most recently served the Biden-Harris Administration as a presidential appointee within the Department of Energy; charged with connecting the Department’s resources and technical assistance with local communities, states, Tribal nations and external stakeholders. Prior to her appointment, Rose worked as a Senior Associate at BlocPower, where she developed and managed the company’s partnership strategy to bring clean energy solutions to vulnerable communities across America. Before obtaining her MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler’s Business School in 2020, she spent over eight years with the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Program focused on market transformation and public-private partnerships. She began her career as a sustainability consultant overseeing issue-based awareness campaigns (with media influencers such as, The Today Show and The Ellen Show) for various utilities, federal, state and local governments.
Along with Rose’s commitment to decarbonizing the built environment she serves as a Board Member to the nonprofit organization called Upstream, advancing solutions to plastic pollution by helping people and businesses shift from single-use to reuse; and, as a member of the Energy and Climate Change Task Force for the City of Alexandria where she resides with her family.
Srishti Bal
Senior Data Associate
Prior to joining the BDC, Srishti graduated from Cornell Tech with a Master’s in Operations Research & Information Engineering. Her graduate work focused on improving urban infrastructure with an emphasis on the impact of the built environment on climate, particularly heat vulnerability. She previously worked at Tesla in the Autopilot department for 3 years, gaining experience in project management and data analysis. She is excited to work on the intersection of climate and data and hopes to build ethical data frameworks to decarbonize buildings.
Ted Tiffany
Senior Technical Lead
Ted Tiffany has over 20 years experience working in the energy industry. Starting from the commercial construction field, building expertise in energy performance modeling, engineering support, architectural consulting, and policy development he has emerged as one of the leading experts in building decarbonization and grid harmonization in his field. With expertise in complex building design, from houses to hospitals, efficiency engineering, renewable energy systems, microgrid design, he’s able to navigate the policy impacts of rate design, grid interaction, and the pathways to ending fossil fuel use in buildings. His prime focus is improving the educational outreach to get electrification and building decarbonization into the mainstream of design, construction, and policy.
Terra Weeks
CA Heat Pump Partnership Director
Terra is a dedicated clean energy professional working to bring electrification to the masses. Prior to BDC, she served as a Senior Advisor to the Chair of the California Energy Commission where she advised on matters including electric and gas system planning for decarbonization and energy research and innovation. Previously, she supported climate tech innovation at Elemental Excelerator. She has also developed solar policies with San Francisco’s Department of the Environment and worked for a startup in the residential solar industry.
Terra holds an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Atmosphere/Energy Program) from Stanford University and a B.S. in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Barbara.
