Aderinsola Akintilo
Senior Product Designer
Ade leads the design of digital tools at BDC’s The Switch Is On initiative, simplifying how consumers connect with decarbonization solutions to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. He is part of the Digital Products Team who cross-pollinate with other internal departments in order to provide delightful software solutions. Before joining BDC, for over a decade, Ade served as a consultant working with brands like Nike, NASA, and Daimler Trucks North America, creating technology-driven products and experiences. Outside of work, Ade loves to travel (literally anywhere), surfing, and all adrenaline-fueled activities.
Allison Considine
Senior Campaigns & Communications Manager, New York
Allison focuses on campaign strategy, coalition work and lobbying in New York State, on everything from thermal energy networks to equitable building decarbonization legislation. Before joining BDC, Allison worked as a Senior Campaign Representative for the Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal Campaign, campaigning to decarbonize NY’s electric grid. Outside of work, Allison enjoys biking around NYC!
Amy Rider
Senior Director of Policy Acceleration
Amy leads a team of policy researchers and subject matter experts who collect and disseminate best practices for scaling up the managed transition away from building-related pollution. She has held positions with local government agencies and consulting firms for more than 20 years, working to optimize climate action through knowledge sharing, behavior change and technology implementation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Energy Management and Design and a master’s degree in Water Resources Policy and Planning. Outside of work, she describes herself as a tree-hugging, sports-loving bibliophile with a not-so-secret love of social science fiction.
André Meurer
Director of Product
André leads the development of BDC’s digital solutions, including The Switch Is On website and interactive tools that guide homeowners, renters, and contractors in going electric. With a background in software and product leadership across sectors like retail and finance, André is now focused on applying technology innovation to decarbonize buildings. When not immersed in the digital world or a good book, André enjoys joining his dog on long hikes, then returning to a comfortable home powered by modern electric appliances.
Ania Camargo
Associate Director of Thermal Networks
Ania leads the BDC’s work on thermal energy networks (TENs). She guides coalitions on legislative and regulatory strategy, education and outreach, and workforce development. Her networks span the nation and include advocates, lawmakers, organizers, workers, and investors. Before joining BDC, Ania co-founded a management consulting firm for nonprofits and led community organizing for climate action. She is Board President of the Home Energy Efficiency Team (HEET) and a board member of the Massachusetts Building Electrification Accelerator. When not decarbonizing the world, she is riding her bike outdoors or spending time with her family.
Arielle Metot
Contractor Agent Associate
Arielle is responsible for supporting HVAC contractors in Colorado with onboarding, training, and project coordination services. With these services, she helps ensure these contractors feel equipped to navigate the state’s electrification incentive landscape and deliver high-quality, efficient decarbonization projects to their customers. Before joining BDC, Arielle worked in customer success, sustainability, and public service, including roles with Boulder County and Cycling industry leaders. She brings a passion for equity, systems improvement, and helping others succeed. Outside of work, Arielle enjoys going outside and experiencing Colorado’s beautiful natural landscape and being an aunt to adventurous twin toddlers. Her favorite electric appliance is her induction stove.
Ashley Besic
Associate Manager, Thermal Energy Networks
Ashley organizes, manages, and leads key research and relationships within the BDC’s thermal energy networks initiatives and broader policy efforts. She organizes a national coalition of thermal energy network advocates and fosters partnerships that introduce neighborhood-scale building decarbonization to new audiences, particularly in the crucial worlds of real estate and development. Prior to BDC, Ashley implemented the Urban Land Institute’s Net Zero Imperative and established the ESG department at LivCor. When she’s not working on decarbonizing the built world, Ashley enjoys spending time outdoors with her two boys and experimenting with growing food using everyday seeds from the food we eat.
Beckie Menten
Director of California
Beckie oversees political strategy and execution and coalition building to advance climate policy and equitable building decarbonization in California. Prior to joining the BDC, Beckie worked for nearly ten years on energy programs for CCAs, such as MCE and East Bay Community Energy. Beckie has also worked at both the California Energy Commission and the California Public Utilities Commission, in addition to overseeing Distributed Energy Resources Programs at the Center for Sustainable Energy. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and enjoys spending time with her dog, cat, and chickens, adventuring in the outdoors, or reading a good book.
Brian Barnacle
Managing Director of Strategy & Development
Brian leads a small but mighty team focused on fundraising and organizational strategy. Before joining BDC, Brian worked in business development and new program development at Energy Solutions, a clean energy consulting firm. Outside of work, Brian serves on the Petaluma City Council and enjoys spending time with his wife Gretchen and daughter Sierra. His favorite electric appliance is a 36-inch drop-in induction cooktop.
Brian Jenkins
Senior Regional Manager, Mid-Atlantic
Brian focuses on advancing building decarbonization initiatives and leading the regulatory agenda across Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. He coordinates legislative campaigns, builds coalitions, and forges partnerships with policymakers to support state and regional priorities. Before joining BDC, Brian managed strategic campaigns at the Energy Foundation, where he spearheaded clean energy legislation and defended key climate policies. Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time outdoors and using his favorite electric appliance, the electric grill.
Celine Ryan
Customer & Contractor Experience Manager
Celine oversees contractor and customer experience at BDC for The Switch Is On in California and Washington. She is part of the customer experience and marketing team, and works on equitable recruitment, training, and management of contractors. Before joining BDC, Celine helped startups in the clean energy space develop customer support and success processes for young teams. Outside of work, Celine spends her free time exploring the wilderness with her pup, and “helping” her partner craft in the kitchen with local, sustainable ingredients.
Claudette Oledimmah
Executive Assistant
Claudette is the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director and supports the leadership and executive teams. Prior to joining BDC, she spent several years working as an executive assistant in private equity, hedge funds, and venture capital in New York and San Francisco. She received her BA from Kings College London and a Diploma in International Business from St. Mary’s University in England. She resides in Pasadena, CA, and enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
Diana Oh
Senior Software Engineer
Diana creates human-centered digital experiences, contributing to BDC’s digital products such as The Switch Is On website, which features interactive tools that help homeowners, renters, and contractors make the switch from gas to electric. Before joining BDC, she built digital experiences for aerospace and biotech organizations. Outside of work, Diana loves hiking with her dog and discovering great restaurants.
Faruq Schieber
Senior Operations Associate
Faruq focuses on onboarding new team members and supporting BDC’s CORE team projects. Before joining BDC, Faruq worked in Human Resources & Operations for The Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights. Outside of work, Faruq enjoys spending time running, playing basketball, creating art and spending time with friends and family.
Friday Apaliski
Managing Director of Communications
Friday oversees communications, branding, and online products at BDC. She is part of the executive team and works on cross-team collaboration, earned media opportunities, and overall tone and voice implementation for both the BDC and The Switch Is On brands. Before joining BDC, Friday ran her own consulting firm, led marketing at the S.F. Dept. of the Environment, and had a previous career in advertising. Outside of work, Friday enjoys spending time with her family and always has a cup of tea in her hand, making her favorite electric appliance the kettle.
Holly Harris
Associate Director of Colorado Contractor Hub
Holly focuses on decarbonization in Colorado, Washington, and Oregon. Before joining BDC, Holly served as an attorney for Earthjustice and K&L Gates. Outside of work, Holly enjoys beekeeping and always has a cup of tea in her hand, making her favorite electric appliance the kettle.
Jacqueline Ramirez
Associate Policy Manager, California
Jacqueline focuses on air quality, equity and coalition building. She advocates, collaborates and coordinates with various stakeholders working towards equitable decarbonization in California. Before joining BDC, she worked on intersectional policy that addressed housing, homelessness, criminal justice and health equity. Jacqueline has graduate degrees from the University of Southern California, where she studied Social Policy and Public Administration. When she is not helping to decarbonize the built world, she loves cooking and painting.
Jason Brown
Communications Manager
Jason manages the strategic communications programs that drive BDC’s campaigns to decarbonize the built environment. Before joining BDC, Jason directed communications for information and climate technology organizations at Antenna Group and Hotwire Global. Outside of work, Jason enjoys playing bocce, walking through Fort Tryon Park, and making references to the movies Road House and The Big Lebowski. His favorite electric appliance is his electric toothbrush.
Javonne Lane
Senior Content Manager
Javonne brings BDC’s mission to life through powerful storytelling that sparks action toward a cleaner, more equitable energy future. She leads content creation strategy, aligning every story, campaign, and message with BDC’s vision to transform our nation’s buildings. Before joining BDC, Javonne served as a Lead Digital Strategist at the U.S. Department of Energy, developing campaigns that advanced energy initiatives for the power grid and expanded public engagement. Her career spans energy, public lands, and consulting, uniting her passion for strategic communications, digital innovation, and public service. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring nature, photography, stargazing, and experimenting with new recipes.
Jeff Chenoweth
Director of Brand
Jeff leads the brand team at BDC, providing support and strategic direction for the org’s content, creative, and event needs. He establishes guidelines and resources that ensure consistency, relevance, and alignment across BDC’s communication channels. Jeff has worked as a creative marketer and writer for nearly 15 years, focusing on building brands in industries from real estate, to climate tech, and finance. When he’s not working, he can be found drawing on his iPad, listening to live music, or running the streets of Portland. His favorite electric appliance is his electric kettle, because coffee.
Jenae Elliott
Senior Marketing Manager of Product Marketing
Jenae focuses on marketing strategy, account management, product development, and new market expansion for The Switch Is On. Before joining BDC, Jenae spent more than a decade producing award-winning marketing and communication campaigns for the utility industry, and working in public service, consulting, and project management. Jenae’s favorite electric appliance is the kettle because it’s a quick means to the end of French pressed coffee.
Jenna Barron
Senior Development Manager
Jenna focuses on mobilizing resources to support BDC and the building decarbonization movement. Before joining BDC, Jenna led the communications and development teams at Clean Energy Works, working to accelerate equitable investments in the clean energy economy. Jenna also worked to secure funding for research and programs to eliminate labor and human rights abuses in global supply chains at Verité. At Oceana, she helped develop proposals for new initiatives leading to the founding of country offices in the Philippines, Brazil, and Canada, expanding the organization’s global impact.
Jessica Silber-Byrne
Thermal Energy Networks Research and Communications Manager
Jess conducts research and manages communications for BDC’s thermal energy network (TEN) initiatives. She strategizes with teammates and external partners across the United States to review, highlight, and advance TEN projects and policies. She also creates content and informational resources on TENs for policymakers, utility executives, climate advocates, and others interested in neighborhood-scale building decarbonization (as well as some who don’t know they’re interested—yet). Jess has an M.S. in environment & sustainability, with a focus on environmental justice. In her free time, she writes, reads, and admires her cat.
Jessica Yap
Chefluencer Program Senior Associate
Jessica is an integral part of BDC’s Chefluencer program and works to cultivate, empower, and mobilize a dynamic community of chefs. She deeply enjoys crafting educational experiences that inspire a more sustainable and equitable future. Before BDC, Jessica ran a meal prep business, installed climate-smart landscaping projects in San Francisco, and researched the intersection of climate change and food security at Harvard University. Outside of work, true to her Filipino roots, Jessica enjoys hosting dinners with copious amounts of food, making her favorite electric appliance her trusted induction hob, which makes cleanup a breeze!
John Masuga
Senior Brand Designer
John shapes and advances the brand design practices across the organization’s many brands including BDC, The Switch Is On, California Heat Pump Partnership, UpgradeNY, Node Collective, and Decarb Nation. From making research papers beautiful, to styling presentations, to designing visual systems to supporting BDC’s most complex initiatives, John is known for making everything at BDC more beautiful. Prior to joining BDC he helped scale Color Health’s brand and design practices across a variety of public health products and services. He honed his skills as a designer at several premier Chicago-based design studios and worked as a cook and culinary school graduate. On that note, John’s favorite electric appliance is the induction stove.
Julianne Waite
Associate Director, Integrated Marketing and Client Engagement—CA Heat Pump Partnership
Julianne leads the California Heat Pump Partnership’s statewide, multi-channel marketing strategy to accelerate heat pump adoption. Before joining BDC, Julianne worked as the Senior Marketing Director at DG+Design, a marketing, communications, and design agency for innovative brands that power the clean energy economy. Outside of work, Julianne enjoys boxing, running, petting dogs, and spending as much time in the ocean as possible. A California girl through and through, she was raised in San Diego, attended college in Santa Cruz, and currently resides in Venice Beach.
Julie Lang
Associate Director of Finance
Julie focuses on managing organizational accounting, leading audit preparation, collaborating with the executive team on the annual budget process, and ensuring financial compliance—key drivers of enhanced operational efficiency and strengthened fiscal accountability. She also proudly contributes to BDC’s Equity Working Group, supporting the organization’s commitment to social equity and inclusive practices. Before joining BDC, Julie gained experience in the nonprofit sector, where she developed and managed innovative accounting frameworks and budgeting processes to support the financial and operational objectives of various mission-driven organizations. Outside of work, Julie enjoys hot yoga sessions in studios warmed by heat pumps, followed by recharging with crispy french fries made in her favorite appliance, the air fryer.
Kara Taylor
Senior Finance Associate
Kara supports a range of financial activities at BDC, including payroll, finance operations for BDC’s 501(c)(4), Heat Pump Nation, and for our consumer marketing team. Before joining BDC, she developed her accounting skills as a bookkeeper for small to mid-sized businesses, and then later shifted her focus to non-profit accounting. When she’s not buried in spreadsheets, Kara loves spending time with her daughter, watching reruns of The Golden Girls, and enjoying a tall glass of ice-cold lemonade, made possible by her beloved ice maker.
Kate Ferranti
Chief of Staff, New York
Kate keeps the trains running for BDC’s New York team – supporting the development and implementation of ambitious strategic plans, designing systems to improve operations and internal communications, directing special projects, and serving as a thought partner, collaborator and culture-builder. Before joining BDC, Kate served as the Chief of Operations for 32BJ SEIU, the largest building service workers union in the U.S. Kate lives in Brooklyn, NY, but when she is not in the city, loves to swim in the ocean and hike in the mountains. Her favorite electric appliance is the electric kettle for a speedy cup of morning coffee.
Kathrina Lopez-White
Senior Associate, Growth Marketing
Kat focuses on connecting contractors with The Switch Is On initiative. She specializes in customer experience marketing and demand generation, aligning efforts with BDC’s mission and values. Before BDC, Kat advanced ESG initiatives at non-profits like Fair Trade Certified, International Planned Parenthood, and Sempervirens Fund, using her marketing skills to foster meaningful change and a sustainable future. Outside of work, Kat enjoys family time, playing music, folkloric dancing, creating visual art, and participating in Filipino community events.
Kevin Carbonnier
Senior Manager, Market Intelligence
Kevin specializes in advancing decarbonization by applying subject matter expertise to develop custom analyses and engaging data visualizations. Kevin has a decade of experience specializing in building energy analysis, zero energy market tracking, and groundbreaking research on emerging technologies, building-grid interactivity, and lifecycle carbon accounting. Kevin holds a Ph.D. in architectural engineering and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM). Outside of work, Kevin enjoys making ceramics, playing board games, foraging for mushrooms, and cooking on his induction stove.
Kristin George Bagdanov
Senior Policy Research Manager
Kristin leads BDC’s cross-organizational research priorities, with a focus on synthesizing and sharing the emerging policy trends that will help accelerate the building decarbonization movement as a whole. She believes that research only becomes knowledge when it’s shared; that the relational infrastructure of the building decarbonization movement is just as important as the physical infrastructure; and that we can’t solve social problems with purely technological solutions. She holds a PhD from University of California, Davis, where she studied the relationship between energy justice, social movements, and cultural production in the U.S. She also holds an MFA in creative writing and can be found making zines, writing poems, and dreaming up clean energy children’s books in her spare time.
Lawrence Garber
Interim Associate Director of Policy Acceleration
Lawrence synthesizes policy trends and, in collaboration with state-based coalitions, translates opportunities to multiple audiences across the building sector to accelerate equitable building decarbonization policy adoption at scale. Prior to joining BDC, Lawrence worked as an educator in Yosemite National Park, Sierra Leone, Namibia, and Austin, Texas. He has an MA in international environmental policy. When not at work you might find him experimenting with his new favorite electric appliance – a food dehydrator – combining his love of cooking and outdoor adventures.
Leada Fuller-Marashi
Senior Accounts & Partnerships Manager
Leada focuses on BDC’s membership program, strategic events, and public-private partnerships. Before joining BDC, she led a premier industry conference dedicated to building decarbonization and a professional development program for college students of color at New Buildings Institute. Outside of work, Leada enjoys cooking and baking with her favorite electric appliance, the induction stove.

Lindsey focuses on consumer inspiration, awareness, and education for The Switch Is On initiative in California. With over twelve years of marketing experience across tech, non-profits, and various industries, she’s driven by a deep passion for climate justice, sustainability, and gender equality. When she’s not championing clean energy, you’ll find her chasing waves, exploring new cities, hunting down great tunes or restaurants, and unwinding with a good book.
Lydia Nelson
Senior Manager, Marketing and Outreach
Lydia Nelson oversees BDC’s community engagement teams for neighborhood-scale building decarbonization pilot projects in California. In this role, she leads the development, execution, and scaling of these teams’ marketing, outreach, and community engagement initiatives. Before joining BDC, Lydia worked across the corporate, local government, and nonprofit sectors. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California State University Maritime Academy, she briefly sailed as an engineer aboard commercial vessels. Outside of work, Lydia enjoys exploring California’s coastline, mentoring students in STEM, and developing community programs that connect people to clean energy solutions.
Madison Vander Klay
Senior Manager of Government Affairs
Madison focuses on legislation and state budget processes in California, including advocating for decarbonization policy in the state capitol and moving BDC-sponsored legislation. Prior to joining BDC, Madison worked in the California Legislature on housing affordability and externally on advancing climate, energy, and electric vehicle policy. She earned her B.A. from Wellesley College, and can be found at Bay Area farmers markets and antique sales.
Malak Nassereddine
Senior Utility & Regulatory Policy Manager, New York
Malak is an attorney and policy specialist, helping to drive BDC’s strategy in engaging New York State’s utility providers and regulators. Prior to joining BDC, Malak served as an Assistant Deputy Director, in the New York City Council’s Legislative Division where she worked on a wide range of legislation, and before that was a litigator in private practice in Toronto, Canada. Outside of work, Malak enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Marycella Dumlao
Senior Events Manager
Marycella oversees planning, execution, and strategy of events at BDC, from virtual webinars to in-person networking events and tradeshows. She also manages part of the Chefluencer Program team, which trains Chefs on the wonders of induction and how to be part of the decarbonization movement. Before joining BDC, Marycella planned events for a renewable energy trade association and has implemented sustainability and resiliency-focused events for federal government agencies, including the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. In her free time, she can be found at vintage flea markets or exploring Baltimore by foot with her dog, Quinn.
Matt Casale
Managing Director of States & Regions
Matt leads BDC’s state policy work, market development, and public engagement efforts, developing and implementing strategies designed to advance the affordable and equitable decarbonization of buildings in California, New York, and other states. Before joining BDC, Matt was the Environment Campaigns Director for U.S. PIRG, where he led the organization’s Climate, Transportation, and Zero Waste programs. Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time outdoors with his kids.

Lead Software Engineer
Matt creates human-centered digital experiences, making it easy for homeowners to switch from gas to electric. Matt was a lead engineer at Amazon, launching engaging products that now serve millions of users. Outside of work, Matt enjoys cooking with his newest upgraded electric appliance, a modern induction cooktop.
Mia Caparaz
Community Engagement Field Coordinator
Mia leads The Switch Is On’s San Francisco Bay Area neighborhood-scale decarbonization customer engagement field campaigns and supports The Switch Is On Ambassadors as they spread the word about the benefits of home electrification in California. Previously, she was a CivicSpark Fellow at BDC, where she supported The Switch is On’s community engagement efforts. She has a BA in Geography, Environment, and Planning from Sonoma State University. Outside of work, Mia can be found at various bookstores and libraries, or starting yet another random hobby.
Nicole Abene
Senior Legislative & Regulatory Manager, New York
Nicole focuses on legislation, regulation, and policy for BDC’s New York team. She works to support neighborhood scale decarbonization projects and policy, including the removal of legal barriers. Before joining BDC, Nicole served as Deputy Director for Legislative Affairs at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Climate and Sustainability and a senior legislative attorney at the New York City Council, where she worked on legislation including Local Law 97, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in large buildings and Local Law 154, requiring all electric new construction. Nicole loves reading fiction and being outside with her dog, Artemis.
Nicole Schiller
Associate Director of People, Culture and Operations
Nicole leads BDC initiatives that strengthen the organization’s growth, culture, and strategic operations. She brings to BDC a background in people operations and talent development, having previously worked at NYC-based cybersecurity and other tech startups. Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading fiction across genres, and doting on her cats. Her favorite electric appliance is her Nespresso coffee machine.
Noah Cordoba
Minnesota State Manager
Noah oversees legislative and regulatory policy initiatives, community engagement, and decarbonization education in Minnesota. Before joining BDC, Noah worked in the utility energy efficiency sector for Ava Community Energy. Outside of work, Noah enjoys dodgeball and hanging in the park slacklining with his friends. His favorite electric appliance is his set of induction cooktops that he cooks exclusively with even as a renter with a gas stove!
Panama Bartholomy
Executive Director
Panama is the Founder and Executive Director of the Building Decarbonization Coalition, a multi-sector forum advocating for and creating solutions for our pollution-intensive building stock. Previously, Panama was the European Director of the Investor Confidence Project where he worked to unlock capital markets for energy efficiency project development. Panama was the Advisor on Energy and Natural Resources to California Assembly Speaker John A. Perez. He has served as Deputy Director of the California Energy Commission’s Efficiency and Renewables Division and advisor for Chairwomen Douglas and Pfannenstiel. He has worked for the California Conservation Corps on vocational environmental education, and ran the Sustainable Schools program for the Division of the State Architect. Panama served on the City of Sacramento Planning Commission and the County of Sacramento Environmental Commission, and is a former board member on the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and past president of the Northern California Chapter of the USGBC. He has worked on climate solutions in over 30-countries, presented at and collaborated on products from the United Nations, the International Energy Agency and the European Commission.
Peter Hylton-Hinga
Senior Associate, Contractor Engagement
Peter helps Colorado HVAC contractors use the Colorado Contractor Hub to find new customers, accelerate project timelines, and secure prompt project payments. His responsibilities include onboarding new contractors and helping these contractors obtain heat pump training reimbursements, rebates, and financing. Previously, he managed more than 100 residential retrofit projects and scaled a nationwide contractor network. He has also served in local government and worked in the U.S. House of Representatives. Off the clock, he tackles DIY electrical projects, much to his wife’s gentle alarm, and tries to keep up with his fast-growing daughter.
Rania Hamdan
Associate Finance Manager
Rania contributes to all aspects of finance at BDC, focusing on spend management, supporting budget work, and ensuring everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes. Before joining BDC, she worked in financial consulting for interior design firms, bringing her financial expertise to many successful design projects. Outside of work, Rania is an avid reader and devoted member of the BDC Book Club, always on the lookout to recruit new members. She loves nothing more than curling up with her e-reader and a hot cup of tea brewed from her favorite electric kettle.
Robin Tung
Director of Public Relations
Robin leads national and multi-state communications strategies that shape the media landscape and influence policy to create safer, healthier, and more affordable homes and buildings. Prior to joining BDC, she developed communications strategies for the Santa Monica Conservancy and architecture firms, taught writing at colleges, and contributed to a contemporary arts journal. She earned her MFA from Johns Hopkins University and her BA from UC San Diego. She lives in Los Angeles with her daughter and can be found cycling in the studio, eating pastries, and reading novels.

Romy oversees the Operations, Finance and HR teams at BDC. She is a member of the executive team and works to promote cross-team collaboration and resource alignment across the organization. Prior to joining BDC, Romy worked for a variety of nonprofit organizations where she developed an extensive background in nonprofit operations, financial management, board governance and HR management. Outside of work, Romy enjoys spending time with family and friends and exploring coastal Delaware with Archie, her 90 pound Bernedoodle. Her favorite electric appliance is her induction stove.
Srishti Bal
Associate Product Manager
Srishti’s main responsibilities include managing the data for all of BDC’s digital products, such as tools for finding electrification incentives, contractors, and products. She is also involved in contributing to NODE, the National Open Data for Electrification Collective, which collects and maintains data on residential incentive programs across the U.S. Before joining BDC, Srishti earned her Master’s in Operations Research & Information Engineering from Cornell Tech and worked at Tesla in project management and data analysis. In her free time, she enjoys reading fictional novels in the park on a sunny autumn day.
Ted Tiffany
Senior Technical Lead
Ted Tiffany focuses on technical support of decarbonizing buildings, from policy development through technology innovation and resources to advance building science. Before joining BDC, Ted worked for a top-level engineering firm focusing on building electrification design, from houses to hospitals, with a focus on technically challenging buildings. His work in building performance modeling, sustainability consulting, renewable energy and microgrid planning set the groundwork for his expertise in energy policy. Outside of work, Ted enjoys working with his Bonsai in the garden and connecting with nature, hiking, paddling, skiing, and generally getting to places without interwebs. Ted’s favorite electric appliance is the mobile battery storage system with solar power that allows him to work from anywhere on the planet where there is at least 6 hours of available sun.
Terrell Mwetta
Senior Manager of Industry Engagement
Terrell manages BDC’s relationships with emerging actors in the building decarbonization market, manufacturers of products for thermal energy networks, and HVAC industry distributors and retailers. Terrell also coordinates proceedings of the Thermal Energy Network Industry Working Group, which convenes manufacturers, drillers, labor unions, and other key thermal energy network industry stakeholders.
Prior to BDC, Terrell managed community engagement for climate and transportation infrastructure projects in the NYC metro area and housing, infrastructure, and economic policy issues for Senator Jeff Merkley and former Representative Earl Blumenauer of Oregon. Outside of work, Terrell enjoys traveling, bicycling, skiing, and hiking.
Tiffany Vu
Senior Research Associate
Tiffany supports the advancement of BDC’s research initiatives including neighborhood-scale building decarbonization. She also curates and maintains the content of the Compass, BDC’s resource library, to make building decarbonization resources more accessible for all stakeholders. Before joining BDC, Tiffany had a previous career in finance and obtained her Masters of Public Administration with a focus on environmental policy. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her sister’s cats and watching shows she’s watched before.
Tryn Brown
Associate Manager of Communications, California
Tryn supports strategic communications to advance equitable climate policy and building decarbonization in California. She helps build the voice and brand of the Building Decarbonization Coalition, The Switch Is On, and the California Heat Pump Partnership. Prior to joining BDC, Tryn worked in academic publishing and affordable housing policy in California. She earned a BA in English and a BS Environmental Studies from UC Berkeley and is currently based in the Bay Area, where she loves running down the coast and eating spicy Thai food.
Valjean Campbell
Human Resources Manager
Valjean puts her passion for being a “human who is a resource” to good use by leading key aspects of Human Resource compliance, compensation and benefits, performance management and other areas of people operations within BDC. Val has worked in the HR field across multiple disciplines since 2008, which has been instrumental in building her brand of creating a contagious culture of mentoring, leadership development, coaching, employee relations, and organizational development. She has spent most of her career working in the not-for-profit space because of her desire to contribute to organizations that focus on helping others. Outside of work, Val enjoys spending quality time with her family and expressing herself through creative outlets like cooking and crafting.
Yami Newell
Illinois State Manager
Yami is the Illinois State Policy Manager for the Building Decarbonization Coalition, where she leads efforts to create equitable decarbonization policies. With over 18 years of experience, Yami is dedicated to advancing social justice through clean energy. Raised on Chicago’s Southside and a Dartmouth College graduate, she has spearheaded initiatives like Illinois Solar for All at Elevate, expanding clean energy access in frontline communities. Her earlier work with the Citizens Utility Board focused on increasing access to energy-saving technologies, further cementing her role as a champion for sustainable, community-centered solutions.
Yassi Kavezade
Associate Director of Campaigns and Policy, California
Yassi works with BDC’s California team to develop and implement the team’s strategy for equitable building decarbonization in California, including conducting research, analyzing policy, and providing technical assistance to BDC partners in support of this strategy. Yassi previously worked at the Sierra Club, where she helped pass renewable energy standards, advance clean truck regulations, and shape the California Air Resources Board’s Scoping Plan in California. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in environmental science from UC Riverside. In her free time, Yassi enjoys hiking the mountains of the Inland Empire and taking long walks with her dog.
Zsofia Balogh-Simon
Director of Partnerships
Zsofia focuses on strategic partnerships with retailers, distributors, and manufacturers at BDC. She plays a key role in fostering collaborations that enhance decarbonization efforts across the industry. Before joining BDC, Zsofia led a private university’s Business Network Center, facilitating connections between academia and business. As a proud alumna of Procter & Gamble, she has over 14 years of experience in marketing and sales. Outside of work, Zsofia enjoys traveling with her family across the USA via EV (having visited 49/50 states).
