Statement from the Building Decarbonization Coalition on All-Electric Building Litigation
ALBANY, N.Y. – July 2, 2026 – Michael Hernandez, Senior Manager, New York Policy for the Building Decarbonization Coalition (BDC) provided the following statement in response to the decision by the Second Circuit:
“We applaud the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit decision which affirmed New York State’s law bringing affordable, all-electric appliances to newly constructed buildings and the Governor’s team for successfully defending this law. The All-Electric Building Act has been delayed long enough. The time has come to start constructing the healthier, more affordable buildings that New Yorkers deserve.”
