Electrification of Commercial and Residential Buildings

Electrification, Financing and Incentives

Electrification of Commercial and Residential Buildings is an evaluation of the system options, economics and strategies to achieve electrification of buildings. It finds that the upfront costs in new residential and commercial buildings of all-electric heating and cooling are lower than similar systems powered by natural gas in Colorado. The analysis concludes that rebates should be quickly modified to lower first costs of all-electric buildings and time of use utility rates should also be refined and marketed to all electric buildings to increase the operating cost savings.
