The Health Effects of Gas Stoves

Gas Stoves, Health Effects

We spend up to 90% of our time in buildings, breathing air that is very likely more polluted than outdoor air. Decades of research shows that gas stoves can expose people to high levels of pollutants inside the home, posing health risks. In May, Rocky Mountain Institute, Physicians for Social Responsibility, Mothers Out Front, and Sierra Club published a report (Health Effects from Gas Stove Pollution) summarizing peer-reviewed research from the last twenty years into eight key findings. The report was featured in more than 150 original articles and reprinted stories, including high-profile coverage in The Guardian, POLITICO, Vox, Bloomberg, and Mother Jones. Join lead authors Brady Seals and Andee Krasner to discuss the findings of the study, highlights of action being taken to protect public health from gas stove pollution, and recommendations for policymakers, healthcare organizations, individuals, and researchers.
